Restoration Programme

Restoration Programme at Clifton Hill House

The restoration programme was started in 1988 by the present warden, Mrs Annie Burnside, to improve the facilities available to students and to do justice to the Grade 1 listed buildings of Clifton Hill House. All the redecoration work was designed and carried out by the Bristol Interior Decorator, Anthony Richards. There are short explanatory plaques in each room for visitors.

In November 2004, Clifton Hill House was the winner of the London Georgian Group Architectural Award in the category “Restoration of a Georgian Country House”. This prestigious national award is held annually to assess the best restoration works across the United Kingdom and attracted 87 entrants that year.
